LET’S DIVE

We set the scene: a calm sea (but it’s within the Bermuda Triangle…)

Until the first storm, all sea actors arranged in two diagonal lines, meeting at the back of the stage

Blue the whale enters, along with her calf (Wolly).

The two whales start to drift apart, causing both to worry…

Wolly starts to panic; especially as he hears the engine of a boat on the horizon (at the end of the phrase).

The boat comes into view, sailing across the stage.

The whales are scared of it, but luckily they manage to find each other again.

The sea gets choppy, tossing both the boat and the whales around!

The sea calms down, and the boat recedes into the distance. The whales are relieved, but still anxious.

Suddenly, a whirlpool appears out of nowhere!

Sea actors (led by Elliot) swirl into a circle; Team Kraken emerges out of it.

The Kraken appears out of the centre of the whirlpool, jabbing its tentacles in rhythm

A rainbow appears in the distance, and the whirlpool subsides.

But the Kraken is still on the surface - it spots the whales and starts to chase after them!

Choreography suggestion for chase: the Kraken and the whales are travelling in the same direction across the stage. Every time each one’s music is played they go forward and the other one stops. If the whales go quite slowly and the Kraken goes a bit faster, by the last one, the kraken will have caught up with the whales.

The whales start to flag - they are already exhausted…

But the Kraken keeps coming!

They try to keep moving…

But it’s getting closer and closer!

Tired whales, followed by speedy Kraken (one more time).

At the end of the phrase the Kraken catches them, and they disappear from view…………..

The camera returns to the calm sea.

And the boat sails across the stage once more.

Suddenly the Kraken rises up once more, and in a flash submerges it beneath the waves!
